I know, I know, Halloween is just around the corner (promptly followed by Thanksgiving and Christmas, eeee!), and this movie isn't the slasher/jumpy/scary movie that typically arrives around Halloween time. But, this is a great New York autumn film, and it stars two of my favorite Saturday Night Live alumni, Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig.
You know how in music, covers done by the opposite sex sound amazing and not so contrived; ie Sam Smith singing Whitney Houston's "How Will I Know?" (just humor me and agree). Well, it's the same way in film, except that great comedic actors shine in dramatic roles and the same goes for dramatic actors in comedies. In The Skeleton Twins, Hader and Wiig are relatable in their vulnerability. Sibling stories always get me in the ugly crying department and break into tears I did. However, there are some great scenes shared by the two that show that their silliness comes out naturally and they complement each other. I only share must-see films, so you know the drill.
