Finally, after what seemed like weeks and weeks of endless work, I finished my first quarter at UCLA Extension. The first class I took was called Drawing For Communication. T'was my first online class and my first drawing class (believe it or not). Each week we had to exercise a technique we learned in lecture, such as light logic, proportions, perspective, human form, animal form, hand lettering, etc. I don't consider myself an illustrator, I'm more of a doodler. So, hands down, this was the more difficult and more time-consuming class. And boy, my instructor was a tough one the whole quarter through. Below is my final project and it's specs. I took the advice from my favorite artists on Tumblr to have your favorite show on while you work. So I chose Mad Men, and it did make the work less stressful. I am so relieved this class is done, it was drawing for beginners on massive steroids.
Pssst!
